Pharmacy & Grill

Postby expat » Fri Aug 21, 2009 9:23 pm

Maybe one or two of our American members can explain this one to me. There was an article about a raid on a "Beverly Hills pharmacy has been raided by drug agents as part of the ongoing investigation into Michael Jackson's death." Nothing odd about that, except the name;

Mickey Fine Pharmacy & Grill

Sooooooooooo, in America as anything is possible, does this mean one can order a burger and fries with one's prescription whist you wait for them to count out your heart pills ;D

It would appear so. Here's a link to the aforesaid establishment. http://www.mickeyfine.com/

The mall concept branched some time ago and I can only expect further propagation. Concord NH's equivelent to England's "fish 'n' chips" is the combined fish and taco franchises... I guess it could be renamed Long John's Fish & Tacos. Many larger stores had their own food concession (even Barnes & Noble bookstores) long ago and bank outlets became a feature; for years Subway (and rivals) joined in with their own concession counters within convience stores as well as owners sporting combo franchises. Eventually, if other doom doesn't interfere, the day of gasoline engines will more than dissipate and such 'convenience' outlets will have to resort to more amenities to survive.

Just up the road from me, in Tooting SW London there's a shop that sells musical instruments and is also a firearm dealer. Eddie Izzard referenced it once in one of his stand up routines as "Guns and Banjoes" !!

Is there an "e" in the plural of banjo?

A lot of Joes play with both, as do Johns, Toms, etc.... Image ;)

Of my many stringed instruments, two of them are Banjos

A 5-String Banjo, and a 4-string Banjo.

The only "E" in my "Banjos" would be an "E" string...;)...!

Paul...all Jo's should be Banned!... ;)...!
