I've noticed some . . . let's just call it "dislike" for most things Texan in the past few weeks.

I bought the best steak I've ever had in texas. My wife and I were traveling through Texas in a rare ice storm. She had an attack, I knew I had to get to a Trauma center quickly. We ended up in Guadalupe and let me tell you, we met some of the nicest people. I still remember some of thier names after all these years!

Being from San Antonio originally, I can say that most Texans are some of the friendliest, most helpful, people you will meet. But as with all peoples & cultures everywhere, there are those that fit their local stereotypes.  ;D

Whilst I'm personally not a fan of Texas (when we lived in California my dad hadn't a Texan colleague who lived up to the image and used to get right up my nose) I have to say the best chilli receipe I ever tried was from a Texan (Oso for those of you who've been here a long time). Man that felt like my lips had been napalmed and my tongue firebombed 8-) 8-) 8-)

Our life-time good friends moved from Alaska to Paris, TX so I got to revisit the Lone Star state - first time since basic - fifty years.  Still as big as ever down there and just as impressive.

Nothing wrong with Texas or the people who live there. My brother in law and his family are living in Houston, TX.

Been to Texas a good many times.

My first ride in a Boeing B52 was with a Texas aircrew.  The only aeroplane I have ever flown in that had "Crosswind Landing Gear".  We never used it but I got the idea on how it worked from the AC.

It was funny when we were taxing in the one lad put the two flags on the staff above the cockpit.  I had not noticed what he had done until we were on the ground.
He raised the Texas State Flag above the United States Flag.
I immediately brought this to the crews attention and was told without hesitation that:
The United States joined Texas, not the other way around.

I just enjoyed the debriefing and the beer later.    ;D
