A good story.

There are a number of themes running through that piece that should keep people mentally occupied.

Thanks,

Col.

I've got vol 1 of his complete short stories, and that's in it. Very good.

awesome story!  8-)

I love these pre-digital era sci-fi stories... I've been having endless fun reading all volumes of the John Carter of Mars novels by Edgar Rice Burroughs  :D

Heres another one that i found. Called Profession. Is also very good, but isn't so short, took me over an hour to read :P. Has a very good ending though.

I've always loved Asimov's short fiction.  His books (the Foundation series in particular) had great ideas, but his writing style has always been a bit plodding.  Not to say that any of it was uninteresting, just slow reading.  His short fiction, however, has always captured me.  I guess because he dispenses with filling page after page with extra words and simply tells the story itself.
