[quote]To solve all these problems we really just should have universal time. Everyone has the same time, all you would have to do is specify when you would wake up etc... Might be confusing at first but I bet it would make airline schedules, call center hours of operations, and tv show times more understandable.

no more wondering what time it is on the other side of the country, have someone call you at 4pm no matter where they are in the world and they can call you right at 4pm.

I don't see what's the big confusion with DST... it's basically doing everything an hour early to make the most of of the daylight ours...

As the daylight gets longer during summer, a portion of that light time would be wasted in the early morning hours, so to maximize daytime, they move back the clock so people will effectively wake up an hour earlier, and use all the daytime in the day... it saves energy really, since all lights will stay off for an hour more than usual

We here are on DST for the 3 months of summer, starting on october and on through february... Mexico apparently is on DST for 8 months every year... and i'm thankful for that since it reduces the time difference between me and my GF to only 2 hours

No biggie for me, really... to be honest, until now I thought the whole world used and accepted DST as commonplace...  :-?
