It's easy enough for me to understand... :P

GMT-5 in the summer, GMT-6 in the winter.

Depending upon where you live....East to West...

Eastern Standard Time.
Central Time Zone.
Mountain Time Zone.
Pacific Time Zone.

...all very complicated for our on-line Multiplayer flights...;0...!

I live in central.

Like I said, GMT-5 during daylight savings time, GMT-6 during standard time. :)

Why don't you work on GMT like the airlines? Sorted. [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

Its the local Daylight Saving times that muck it all up...

Every time we have an on line flight, I have to get my Time Zone Maps out and try and calculate the local times of everyone participating....

..get it wrong and we don't all turn-up in the right place at the right time..... :'(....

It should be easy enough. Set an old watch or clock on GMT & work to that. If everyone did that it would be a piece of cake.

You can even do it online. http://wwp.greenwichmeantime.com/info/current-time.htm

I thought I heard a rumor that the US was considering dumping daylight savings time.

What I get a kick out of is people who think the government is actually changing the timing of the sun.  The governor of Louisiana stated she wanted to extend daylight savings time after hurricane Katrina to give people more daylight to work on their houses.

Thanks everyone for your input.

I think after reviewing things that we should simply declare the whole world as GMT.

This would solve multiple business problems and definitely benefit online simmers(who of course should be the direct beneficiaries of such an action).

And as for those who wish to jog or whatever in daylight, the will just have to get up at 2 in the afternoon or whatever, where ever.

Problem solved 8-)

Vista has some redeeming qualities.

Well its very easy for me as Arizona has no DST.  ;D

I don't see the point of changing the time just so we have "more sun" as it really doesn't make sense.  If you have 12 hours of daylight for a day it doesn't increase by moving the clocks back an hour, all it does is appear that the day starts sooner and confuses everyone for a few days. You still have 12 hours of sunlight, no less, no more. If you REALLY need extra time to do stuff then you just need to wake up earlier!

To solve all these problems we really just should have universal time. Everyone has the same time, all you would have to do is specify when you would wake up etc... Might be confusing at first but I bet it would make airline schedules, call center hours of operations, and tv show times more understandable.

no more wondering what time it is on the other side of the country, have someone call you at 4pm no matter where they are in the world and they can call you right at 4pm.  ;D no confusion  8-)

I still don't understand how you can possibly be confused by DST.
