1. Captain, if the problem is not entered into the technical logbook.........then the aircraft does not have a problem.
2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.

As a firefighter, I hate stories such as this.  Does anyone want to guess how many do-good neighbor rescuers firefighters have had to recover (not rescue) from a burnt out house?  Firefighters have to go through extensive training and wear several layers of protective clothing, and yet we manage to kill hundreds of firefighters every year.  Ugh....I better stop before I have an aneurism.   >:(

If you really wanted to be superhero, you should do it before the cops show up.

Have you ever studied fire behavior and building structure during a fire?  Do you realize that the temperature in your average house fire can reach 1500+ degrees?  Do you know what toxic gasses are waiting for you to come in and breathe?  Half of the "superheroes" are found dead within 15 feet of the door, from CO and cyanide poisoning (also known as smoke inhalation).   Not only to these "superheroes" not help the situation, they actually hinder it because now we have to save them and the original victims.  The police officers are there to stop idiots from needlessly killing themselves for a good cause.  I notice kids were involved, we always say the number killer of civilians and firefighters in fires is kids.  No human being can stand the thought of kids in a burning building.  Not too long ago three firefighters in Iowa were killed trying to save three kids in a burning building, no one made it back out.  Not

I never said they'd be successful.  Just if they wanted to do it.
