I wouldn't worry about it, as long as the aircraft has duel controls...
Swords or pistols at a hundred paces? Maybe both for a dual effort? ;) ;D

You know, I like my Dual Action Sig.
Sig 229, 40cal.
Its my carry piece.
I do not have to worry about my thumb missing the safety.
I can de-cock it, with a round in the chamber.

When I go to the range, I will set out mags with only two rounds each, and then go through them, firing the first with the "long draw" trigger, and the second with the short.

Little bit of practive is all it took. If you expect it, you can still hit your target, and of course, that is all that matters.

And of course, with enough practice, you can shoot a DA revolver reasonably quickly too.. heck, you can even get proficient with an old-west style SA-only revolver. What really matters is that you're comfy and confident.

All things being equal though, it's physics and mechanics. A short, crisp, SA-only trigger gives you less to worry about.. less to have to get used to.. less to think about....leaving more time (both in a shootout and at the range) to concentrate on accuracy.

**you've even pointed out that you modify your range-time to deal with it**

I'm no expert or professional shooter, but I personally prefer handguns that have both single and double actions. I don't know why, but I just do...

I definitely love the action on the XD.  It has a rather long single action that keeps everything under control for me.  I shot my friend's gun with a double action trigger and the first shot I kept pulling and pulling and finally anticipated the shot and I was lucky to hit the backer-sheet of plywood at all.  After a while I tried pulling the hammer back, but then it's like a hair-trigger and you surprise yourself (more than you should) and you're not even ready.  I just can't seem to keep the gun very steady while I'm pulling through with the double action.

Auto loading pistols have a neat history.. But it's funny how; the more things change, the more they stay the same.

Think back to what it was like when the 1911 was designed. It only held 7 shots, so the motivation wasn't fire-power. The ability to reload quicker was a consideration,, BUT the main reason the autoloader came into being, was for its SA trigger. Quick, precise and accurate. One can only imagine how often those old beasts stove-piped compared to a rock-steady-reliable revolver... so you'd wonder why a shooter would "live" with a malfunction risk ? Because people simply can't get a series of shots off accurately, dragging a trigger along.

The DA autoloader came into being out of political correctness. Cities didn't like the idea of their under-trained cops running around with a pistol in contidition-one. Some wanted so much shielding from law-suits, that a DA only autoloader was developed. And about that time, high-capacity magazines came into style. People were willing to live with this lousy trigger; so long as they could miss what they were shooting at, 16 times

[quote]Hello,

Does anyone here know if there are any training FSX videos on flying aircraft in general?
I know there are the manuals, however are there any videos that show, reading instruments, while flying the aircraft.
I can never seem to find the runway, and glue myself to the instruments and still can
