Still waiting on my computer.

Postby coolpick » Wed Feb 11, 2009 10:00 am

I ordered a computer off of cyberpower about 2 weeks ago. They said it would ship out in 5-10days, well its day 10. I checked my order status and they haven't even built my computer. If it doesn't ship out today I'm going to cancel my order, and just built it myself(or attempt to  ;)).

Most times companies mean 5-10 business days. But yeah, if they haven't even started on it I'd be a bit ruffled even though it likely only takes them a few hours to build. I'd call them about the delay. Maybe there is a backlog on components.

Alright, so I just called. The were waiting on the memory. So now it wont ship until at least Friday. I'm thinking of canceling it. I could probably order the parts off of newegg, get them here, and put it together by the time cyberpower gets done screwing around.

That always annoys me, 5, 10 or 15 (business) days delivery. We all know it translates into 1, 2 or three weeks in real life, not including the extra delay of weekends. Why don't companies be honest up front about it. We know that they know that we know ::)

2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.

Well they shipped it early this morning. And they sent me a post build sheet. They put in a bigger PSU for free, plus the new mobo. It should be here by Wednesday. I'll post some pics/screenshots as soon as I get it dialed in.

You've waited this long. Wait until it comes. You will have a warranty on it. If you cancel, you may get hit with a cancellation fee, which is "free money" to them. You must be young and impatient. I was once, as well. But as you get older, you'll find that things you thought of paramount importance then are of little consequence now. When I was thirteen, six months was an eternity. Now, at 51, it flies by so fast I hardly sense the time pass. Ask Fozzer what he thinks you should do. He is always full of very sage advice...
