An American soldier whose skydiving instructor died mid-jump says he owes his safe landing to watching how they do it on TV. Not the best introduction, but he did well

1. Captain, if the problem is not entered into the technical logbook.........then the aircraft does not have a problem.
2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.

Odd way of doing a first jump, i think the briefing for the jumped helped him more then what is shown on TV, and he indeed was lucky, those tandem shutes are pretty damn sensitive! Nonetheless, a impressive feet for only a single jump, he's lucky he didnt break anything on landing, i've seen tandem jumpers needing 2 catchers on the ground as to get the chute down :).
