..me?...

Definitely... [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif]..!

..an interesting program on my Radio at the moment, discussing Folks who are "Hoarders"...Folks who never throw anything away... :o...!

Folks who have to burrow through piles of objects to get from one room to another... ::)...!

I am one of "those"!... ;)...!

I live (by myself now) in a large 3-bedroomed house, which I have occupied for the past 50 years, and in that time I have practically filled my house up with all sorts of "really useful things" that are too good to throw away...(I reckon!.. ;D...)...!

Its unbelievable!... ;D...!

I need a Compass and GPS to navigate safely from one room to another.. :o...!

My Children and Grandchildren are terrified at the thought of clearing my House when I pop my Clogs!... ;D...!

Any of my Sim V Chums out there who are dedicated "Hoarders"?... ::)...!

Paul...Hoarder Extraordinaire... 8-)...!

...where am I?... :o...!

...the Ridge Tiles on the roof of my house are 18 Inches lower than the Ridge Tiles of my neighbours adjoining houses due to the weight of my "collection"... :'(...!

I'm guilty of this one. :-/

I like to keep things of 'sentimental value, kid's school work & projects, songs and music stuff I've done over the years, garage full of broken appliances I might be able to fix someday...etc. :D

While not so bad that I can't navigate my house, it does make for lots of shelves and full closets, and a very packed garage. ;D

Sounds like you need FHNavigator....Fozzer's House Navigator2004 ;D ;)

Good morning all... :)

"Hoarder" A person who accumulates things and hides them away for future use.

"Collector" A person who collects things.

Gosh Paul I think I am both of those things, I keep the barn and hangar full of aviation parts for future use.

Just in case I have to return them under Warranty?..... ::)...!

All the Warranties expired many years ago.....!

...but I still keep/store the boxes!... :-[...!

..Why?..

God only knows!...LOL...... ;D...!

Paul... ;D..!

I used to be somewhat, but last fall I had to clean out someones house who had a major hoarding problem and that cured me of any hoarding issues I may have had.

This persons house was incredible.

Good afternoon all  :)

Think I am an organized "Hoarder" or "Collector".

I have parts in the hangar organized by aircraft and type or if it is too large it is hanging from the ceiling.  The barn has screws, nuts & bolts, washers, etc. all by Imperial or Metric size organized in one area.  The same as my tools, hammers in one spot, screwdrivers etc in another or in a mobile tool chest.

Boxes that stuff like gifts come in we usually recycle right away if the item is not being returned.

What would we call a person who stops to pick up a rusty bent nail or washer off the sidewalk and puts it in their pocket and takes it home.  To me that is a real "Hoarder".   :)

I am the exact opposite of a hoarder :P

Every 2 months or so i give away or throw out all of the stuff that i don't use that is sitting in my room. All i keep is computer parts, wires of all sorts. Everything that i need is on my computer.

Interesting you picked now to bring this up Paul. Just last night there was a news story about a woman who went missing for some days. After an exhausting search the local authorites found her dead in a state of severe dehydration, under about 4 feet of debris in a room inside her own home.
 Yes, she was a hoarder.
Seen Mrs. Fozzer lately? ;) ;D
As for myself, I collect things such as model kits, vintage video game systems, computers and associated computer paraphernalia. I work to keep them neatly stored and out of the way. I do not keep things such as old newspapers, however I do have some old issues of my favorite magazines I've kept through the years.

That certainly applies to me. I'm in constant danger of tripping over something & causing myself terrible injuries. It could be weeks before anyone finds me. :o
(Not really as I'm lucky enough to have caring family & friends who would soon notice my absence, I hope. ::))

My New Year's Resolution is to have one giant spring-clean & get rid of it all. I'm none too confident of keeping it. ;)

*PS. I once fell down the stairs at my old home. I had returned early from holiday so nobody knew I was there. Fortunately I was not badly hurt but it occurred to me at the time that I could have laid there for a week without anyone noticing.

One of my Bedrooms is full of various Musical Instruments of all types, shapes and sizes, the quantity of which would put the New York Philharmonic Orchestra to shame..... :-[

Another Bedroom is full of various Personal Computers, Games Consoles, etc, and their Hardware and software, dating from the 1970's to date..... :-[

My Bedroom is full of Electrical/Electronic apparatus of my own design over the years...as well as Piles of Computer Magazines, Flying Magazines, Motorcycle/Car Magazines, Electronic Magazines...
...and one or two Magazines which must remain hidden...;)...!

My Living Room and Dining Room is full of Organs, Pianos, Synthesizers, Music Workstations, and Home Keyboards..... :-[

My Garden Shed is crammed full of Military Radio Transmitters and Receivers, and their components, Glass Thermionic Valves, etc, dating back to World War II (ex Government Surplus)..... :-[

My Garage is full of......just about everything else... :-[...!

Paul... ;)... ;D...!

In my neck of the woods, we're referred to as "pack rats" and my wife is a pack rat extraordinaire.

My step dad, God love him is the original pack rat. He has things that have absolutely no purpose and he's had them for no less than 30 years, BUT, he MIGHT, find a use for them someday. His sheds have more thingamabobs and whatcha-ma-jigits than you can imagine.

I asked him one day, "What the hell is this contraption?" He looked at it and laughed and said, "Hell if I know, but I'll find a use for it somewhere."

I have yet to figure out what the stacks of old National Enquirers dating back to the 1970's could every be useful for..... :-/

I'm certianly a 'harder' one to get to clean my room.  ;)

So I hoard because I'm too lazy to do anything with it. Besides, I don't like to get rid of things that I might need in the future.

I am a "Hoarder," no doubt. I save boxes like you said F. Save all kinds of sentimental crap. Every piece of schoolwork I've done.

8-)
