The patch is somehow making web pages load slower. I am still tryin got figure out exactly why.
We seem to have the same problem here.

Are you really surprised, this is M$. The patch for the patch will be released next year, well maybe. IE7 may be a legacy product by then and no more planned support will available ;D ;D

Maybe MS had the patch made in Britain and we're experiencing the slowdown with all of those extra or variant letters in the words...
On the other hand, perhaps yours isn't working any faster -- you just concurrantly slowed down. :)

I see no speed difference at all. I wouldn't say it is running faster or slower. :)

Actually, it's IE that has the compatibility flaws. Firefox is one of the few CSS-standards compliant browsers out there. The only problem is that some web designers refuse to use the standards...

Actually, it's IE that has the compatibility flaws. Firefox is one of the few CSS-standards compliant browsers out there. The only problem is that some web designers refuse to use the standards...

And those websites still work in Internet Explorer. ;) I have NEVER had a problem with opening a web page in IE.
I've had few problems with IE. It is fast, easy to use, easy on the system and is updated often enough and is secured by plenty of antivirus/antispyware that firefox is simply an option to most. I've tried Firefox many times and I do not like it because of the fact the tabs are buggy and it crashes a lot. (I often have 20+ tabs open at a time.) And (for some STRANGE reason) I have to reinstall Firefox every 3-6 hours. ::)

this patch is nothing but a dumb workaround.
expect loads of other exploits for this bug, as the problem is in the IE render core, which is used for almost anything in the OS.

Never used anything but IE, and never had any probelms, or infections. What it misses, Avg and Spybot catches, so far. Maybe I just don't explore risky enough web sites. ;)
