Lesson learned... if your going to throw a shoe at the US president atleast make it worth your while and hit him

Then the guy would have been charged with Bush-whacking.

He would have received a fair trial followed by his hanging.

Both throws looked pretty well aimed from what I saw on the video.

Faith->Family/Clan->Tribe->Sect (Shia vs Sunni)->Country

faith -> family/clan -> race -> tribe -> past political allegiance -> sect -> region/province -> country.
You missed a few ones... some only apply for the expatriates though

The journalist is a shia iraqi, but the tv station he works for is generally anti-USA and anti government

I have sat through several classes, briefs and meetings where this matter is discussed, and never did I see the word Race inserted, especially before Tribe, which, would be the same "race" anyway. Ethnicity might be the better word, and I would not place it there. I would place it after Country, after all, they were certainly willing to go to war with Kuwait, but so much in a rush to led the Kurdish region go.

Region and province is irrelevant, tribe trumps this as some tribes and sect cross those boundaries. Those are simply lines on a map. They could not care less.

Political allegiance is another I have not seen, as the head of the tribe has such great influence on this, as evidenced by Sheik's siding joining the "Awakening Counsels" that have had such a dramatic effect.

The Iraqi people [and the US military] owe a great deal to those counsels.

Theres a lot of difference between the north and the rest of the country... Maybe the guys who go to the north get a different briefing, as this one is more fitting for the situation in the center of the country.

Our unit covered from the border of the capital to the border with Syria. While we were there we stretched up into Mosul/Tikrit area, as the west was doing so well after the Awakening Counsels and the previous unit that did the same job (Just a shout out to Andrew and crew).

wow, sounds like you guys covered additional areas than we did. We were all over the Anbar provice even going out to Rutbah which wasn't too far from Jordan, and to Alqaim which wasn't far from Syria.

Besides going up to LSA Anaconda, and Camp Victory a few times, we mostly stayed around Ramadi and Fallujah. We almost went on a mission up to North Iraq, but for some reason, it fell through.

Our second platoon got to spend a month and a half in Baghdad doing route clearance. We almost went with them, but didn't
