Postby NitroPower » Fri Oct 17, 2008 3:50 pm

Not looking forward to it, as im not in shape  :'( (that, and it is from 5:45am to about 5:30pm)

Here is some stuff we will do:

Compass navigation, map reading
Rope Bridging<--MOST FUN!
5K run
PT test<--Failed it :(
Emergency Simulations...
Not sure of the rest...

Shouldnt be that bad, could it?

Child's play.  Let me know when you are ready for the warrior challenge.  :evil

12.5 mile run in boots with rifle
1.5 mile swim in full cammies with rifle
Obstacle course twice (including the ropes) with rifle
240G disassemble and reassemble
249SAW disassemble and reassemble
M16A2 disassemble and reassemble
M2 .50cal Disassemble and reassemble
6 mile Land NAV course (map reading and locating coordinates)
Rifle shoot (60 rounds, don't miss)
Communications (load a freq into the PRC-119 and do a radio check)
Marine Corps Martial Arts  (Grappling and Pugle Sticks)

You have 8 hours to complete all this, across an 18 mile course, recommend you do the swim last, soaking wet cammies and boots are no fun to run in.   ;D  I usually wind up with shin splints or a strained tendon.  Winner gets the next day off to recover.  My team never wins.

Yeah I love the way they call it a March or a Hike...

The Warrior Challenge is usually done quarterly, every three months or so, depending on the units deployment schedule.  It isn't something that goes in our recod books or count against us, they do it for "fun" or for "morale"  LOL  I guess it's supposed to build unit cohesion, but the squads usually wind up getting mad at each other and everyone goes home pissed off and tired haha.  I hated that.

Pleased to meet you!

Ahh - 'fun'.
Yup - 'fun' as in "A working soldier is a happy soldier - so my soldiers are ecstatic" type of fun?

That sounds vaguely familiar...

You people have strange idea's of 'fun'  ;).

I mean, there's nothing wrong with physical exercise, but running with all that stuff packed could hardly be called fun ;D.

Your shelter had AC?!?!   :o   :D  Ok Im kidding now haha mine always have 2 AC's, one as a backup, because we have to keep the servers and computers cool.  Officers don't like to do war without email and internet, so life isnt too bad for me out in the field as a Comm guy (usually)  ;D

With all the weight I've been gaining lately, this was just what I needed to read.... I feel so fat now--I could barely run 2 miles at the gym today. Hey, at least I'm going to the gym  ;D
