FWIW, I miss Phil Taylor

Postby vgbaron » Tue Oct 07, 2008 11:12 am

For the last year or so, I started my daily forum browsing by checking Phil's blog to see what new tidbit he had uncovered for us. Just finding that I miss that.

Just MHO,

He was a member of the Microsoft "ACES" studio, which develops the FS series.
I believe that he was active on the Avsim forum, and expressed his views on the FS franchise, and just gave general comments about what can or should be expected from the FS series, and what steps are taken in development.
Some people loved his participation in the forums and the knowledge that he shared, but others indicated that they did not approve of many of the comments that he gave, which, I have been told, attempted to downplay some of the issues FSX had in it's early stages.

I don't personally have an opinion, or issue, with this person, so I'll let others fill you in.  ;)

He was a regular poster here in the FSX forum ..... One of the lead developers in MSFS (Aces) Team .. Used to make a blog (mentioned above) as a method of communicating with the community ..

Phil was a somewhat regular in the FSX forums. There were some real good discussions and also it gave Simviation users a key person to talk with from the ACES team.!

This thread should go into the FSX forum but I guess we will leave it here to introduce Phil to those who do not frequent the FSX forum.

Here is Phil Taylor's Blog

Here is a link to Phil Taylor'sprofile

I agree also. I think all that vgbaron was saying is that he will miss Phil's postings, that is all. Nobody here is depressed or upset about it as all people move on.

FSX/Simviation were here before Phil and FSX/Simviation will

I think what people miss most is a feeling of a "connection" into Microsoft's ACES team, not Phil specifically.

As Dave said....... SimV goes on.

SimV goes on, phils work goes on and his latest project he is doing with intel (i think it was intel) may benefit us all in years to come :)

i will miss his input and i doubt we will see a link from the ACES team to the simming community again :(
