Was watching this live http://abclocal.go.com/ktrk/livenow?id=6384042 last night just as the hurricane was coming in yesterday, so weird watching a hurricane happening live..

Very weird, and it's sad that everyone in the world will also suffer because of this :S.

I've seen a total of 5 F-16's and around 15 Blackhawks go over my house so far. Along with one T-1 Hawk.

I just got power and internet on this evening, and I live in Ohio.

Ike, what was left of it, came up North, and as it converted from a Tropical Storm to a standard low pressure zone, it stirred up wind gusts reaching 80+mph. Thats Cat 1 Hurricane strength.

In the Cincinnati area they were saying 90% without power, over 1Million across Ohio.

Its getting better slowly.  The only good thing is that we did not have to deal the the torrential rain and flooding they had in Texas.

Bad here, worse there.

We got some wind and much needed rain. Otherwise, all normal.

Well, it looks like the federal funds will come from citations for fuel price fixing, one place had gas prices of 7$ a gallon  :o.

I don't have a car yet, but each of the stations found to do this will have to pay 20,000$ USD to the Attorney General's office/state, and there's over 1,000 suspected stations, and 20$ million is a great chunk of money for a relief fund, even temporarily.

Here in San Antonio we didn't get a drop of rain...in fact, it was a sunny and cool day when Ike hit.
My Grandmother was fine and is out of intensive care and she is doing much better. She sounds like a new person after the surgery :) Though my grandparents house is still without power...
