The Cubans, Haitians, Mexicans, Guatamalans and Nicarauguans want to join the Jamaicans with bobsled teams. They've got no snow and need to practice. There's also thought of a 200-mile bicycle race for the London olympics. What's Hereford got for hills?

[color=#003300]Hey! The bobsledders will be happy to hear that... cows and sheep; most are of Spanish descent, the running of the bulls and all; sheer the sheep and spread the wool -- they've never seen snow (after practicing on mud...). Sounds like great territory for the mountain bike racers, too. When the field hockey teams

I keep goin' to NBC to see what's on the Olympics, then halfway to the channel, I remember: Oh yeah, it's done. Two years to the winter. I think I like those better. The closing ceremonies were nice.

Sir Chris Hoy will be justified, for his Olympic success over two games, and the overall success of his career in cycling, and the progression of the sport.

Becky Adlington may, IMO, just receive an MBE/OBE for now, until her career has progressed a little. OK, Kelly Holmes was made a Dame after Athens for her double gold, but that was also reflecting her career as a top class athlete, which at Athens was very much in its twilight.

Mind you, any way you look at it, Sir Chris or Dame Becky are 5 million times preferable to Sir David Beckham (a fairly talented footballer who shone in the most dominant team in England in the 90s, was nothing more than a reasonable England captain, then went money hunting abroad), which I have a horrble feeling will one day happen for some unknown reason.

Far more acceptable in my eyes than some drug ridden, womanising, boozaholic, occasionally pseudo-political rock stars who happen to have become rich enough to give a small percentage of their fortunes to good causes...

I can honestly say I had never even heard of the guy until these "games"....commoner ;)

You missed him at Athens then. :)
