Tropical Storm Fay

Postby Apex » Thu Aug 21, 2008 6:16 pm

Good grief, that thing is practically sitting still just off the NE Florida coast.  It's dumped huge amounts of rain up there, caused a lot of flooding, stalled for a time at 0 mph, right now moving at 5 mph.  In my immediate neighborhood near S. Miami, just another couple of rainy days, if that, and not much wind.  I'm on high ground, it would take a lot to flood right here.  Other nearby parts, the beaches and county to the north got some wind and rain, some spots of minor damage like a few large trees down, but not too much.

It's one for the books, I guess.   It's not over, expected to make landfall again near Jacksonville, and then possibly go out into the Gulf of Mexico and make a fourth landfall somewhere.

As I type this, the storm is just getting to me. Theres been constant, but not heavy rain, and some gusts of wind. Nothing too serious yet. They said to expect anywhere from 8 - 15" of rain! It doesnt flood where I live. I just hope the power doesnt go out! But luckliy, its not hot out if it does.

My specs... A hard drive, motherboard, graphics card, some memory, a keyboard, mouse, and monitor - in other words, nothing special.

[color=#003300]Sure they do... Last year they complained that we didn't have enough rain to replenish the ground water... everybody prayed, maybe even a rain dance or two... Up until last week of this year,
