I'm flying American Airlines next week from Newark Liberty Intl. to Chicago O'Hare intl, most likely on an MD-80, is there any things I should look out for mid-flight on this trip?  ;D

Well, when I was in O'hare I once saw an MD-80 engine catch fire on startup. It wasn't a confidence-inspiring moment.   ;D

Look for a seat that's not in the last row... :D

The 80 is a sturdy beast; don't be put off by its age... especially if anyone in the crew is older than the plane. You'll be as safe as possible in that case. ;)

As for sightseeing, it all depends on what side you're on (and whether or not you have a window seat). ;)
I like to simply observe the infinite variety of the sky, and try to spot airports and, of course, traffic. Great way to pass the time.  :)

Flying out of EWR is always fun. I always drive down the turnpike checking out all the planes. But the scenery outta there is amazing. The few times I flew out from there, I could see other planes on approach/in the pattern to JFK. Nice view of the city as well.

Yeah, I live north of Newark Airport, and when planes are on final approach on runway 22L and 22R, I always hear them above my house. I love hearing the huge cargo planes at 6 in the morning.  :P

Winter time landing into KORD from over the lake... snow everywhere and a giant icy lake.... BRILLIANT!

Nothing I can think of mid flight, but your last few minutes when you are inside the city of Chicago are always good ones  ;)
