I thought Naval Academy was easy than Air Force Academy...

Mmm, every military college or academy has its good and bad points, but overall, none can really be said to be "easier" than another.

Slightly off topic, for the USAF its 4 months in theatre then no other deployment for 2 years? Interesting. We tend to do several 3-4 weeks stints throughout the year (continuously - having said that our Army (and Harrier force) is completely overstretched and its seems not uncommon to do 4 or 6 month dets with a lot less time in between). Two ways of skinning the same cat I suppose.

That's what the Air Force Major I interviewed with told me, but you know how the military is about correct information in a timely manner. ;D

I say if you can find the airplane and get it on the runway, you can see well enough to fly.   :P

Okay well that makes my day even better  ;)
I thought my eyes were really bad but Ive seen pilots with glasses at the Denver Airport (lots of them walking around) so I expected I could become one with glasses but I also talked with an Air Force guy online at there website and thats when he told me I needed 20/20 to 20/70 to become a pilot in the Air Force...

Also my dad was telling me if I dont get into one join ROTC or something in college because thats what he did but even if I dont get excepted into Air Force or Navy I can just go to college and get my degree then join Officer Training then Pilot Training..

If im correct..

I don't mean to solicit, advertise, or come off as rude. But, a website you may want to also ask at is, f-16.net & airwarriors.com .

;)

Look in the medical sections because they have hundreds of pages worth of information about requirements & laser eye surgery.

They try to keep you under the 6 mos. deployment quota which qualifies it for "temporary" duty (TDY). There also can be the happenstance of exactly when you apply for what since quota needs tend to fluctuate.
Also, from personal experience: the questionaire asked for our preferred duty location and two alternates -- that was evidently to make certain that no one was assigned to any of them; certainly don't want anyone to get too comfortable.

:P

Air force or Navy..................well depends when you end up going to war if you want to stay in a hotel somewhere

1. Captain, if the problem is not entered into the technical logbook.........then the aircraft does not have a problem.
2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.

Off the record, join the Air Force, life is good, the ladies are hot, the deployments are short, and you sleep in hotels on deployment.  On the record, screw them both and a fly a Marine Corps C-130, our uniforms are nicer and we have more fun  8-)

;D I read your signature.. Napa Valley.. I hate California, I live in the Bay Area  :-/

On subject, Im more suprised that noone voted Navy (I was the only one who did becuase at first I wanted to go to there more) but now Air Force seems alot lot BIGGER on pilots and alot nicer but it just seems a bit hard but they have alot of pilots jobs (what ive read from the air force website) and also the pay past 26 years on a mid-high rank is  :o!

Marines would be cool but.. there pilot jobs dont seem very big..but what do I know?  :-? ;D
