Not sure if this is Gerneral or Aviation :-?, but it is certianly barking mad. Still at least he had a parachute and gps :-/

1. Captain, if the problem is not entered into the technical logbook.........then the aircraft does not have a problem.
2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.

Didnt he do this a few years ago? My dad told me a story about it quite some time ago. And yeh, one of my friends posed the dropping the BB gun question, but you would probably just release the balloons manually.

Looks like fun though, must try that one day....

Well, according to the article he has made a few other attempts. The most famouse person to do this was Lawn Chair Larry, Unfortunatly despite his folk hero fame, Larry had some issues and is no longer with us. :'( I think there is an article about him on the Darwin awards site, either try that or google him if you want to learn more.

he has a parachute if he dropped his gun he could parachute safetly... although Im sure someone might get hit with the BB gun

They tried Larry's flight on Mythbusters. Worked like a charm. Guy got fined by the FAA after he landed. He said "I'd only do it again if I had permission from the FAA...so it doesn't look like I'll be doin' it again." Check me on that since it was from memory.
