The reason for Fozzer's anti-toerag attitude is a fear he may be forced back onto school property.

I constantly have to watch out for annoying little Students/Children erecting "For Sale" signs inside my front gate... >:(...!

A "Radiation Hazard Warning" notice would be more appropriate to deter Toe-Rags and annoying little Students/Children... :)...!

So if I understand correct, her house was demolished with everything in it (seats, table, a bed and so on) by a contractor? Who did they hire? Stevie Wonder?

Crash ;)

Yup, my ex's parents live in a house that over here would easily go for close to a million if not more. Large front and rear gardens, 3 car garage, 4 bedrooms, 3 1/2 bathrooms, a large extension with bedroom and bathroom. Last I heard it had a mortgage of about $300,000's

It's all in the location. Jackson, Mississippi isn't exactly Los Angeles, California. 713 sq ft is a bit less than 27 x 27, not exactly the Taj Mahal.

Exactly,  3 bedroom 2 bath with garage might go for $70,000 in michigan but move the exact same house to san diego and it will go for a million

I wouldn't just go to work when my house was being demolished and hope the people there know what they are doing.... Because then the person who didn't commision it would probably have avoided getting smashed down.
It wasn't her house that was supposed to be demolished. Pranksters had moved the signs, obviously in her absence, and she may have had no idea what the schedule was for the lot next door.

I worked for a furniture (mainly church pews - gauranted for 100 years) manufacturer in Nebraska -- most all of the wood was imported except for an amount of the black walnut. Early in the last century, the federal government paid farmers to plant trees (the National Arbor foundation is in Nebraska City); the government stopped paying so they cut down many of the ones already planted (assisting the joke about the farm blowing by in the wind).
Winter temperatures can get well below zero, particularly with the wind chill. A snow plow smashed into a bus it couldn't see buried in the snow ahead of it. A man died from exposure only 100' from his house -- he couldn't find it in the blizzard winds. I once floored my Monte Carlo and smashed through a snowdrift telling my passenger (a fellow airman), "We'll pray no one's on the other side but we don't want to be stuck here."
Not only is Nebraska split by time zones but telephone zones (east = 402, west = 308), as well, so you usually don't need to consider what time it is. If they're twenty feet away from you in the next time zone, it may be a long distance call.

I was born in Nebraska... Just thought I would interject that while we're off the subject. ;)

Anyway, that sounds like one hell of a prank. Don't get me wrong, I do feel sorry for the woman who lost her house, but that has to be some kind of record a far as pranks go. Also, the contractor who tore down the house must have been a complete idiot if he couldn't tell that someone lived in the house.

Which town... Ong, Funk...? While we're off the subject, perhaps the ground, did you intend to move or did Nebraska's natural Tornado Population Control whip you off course?

Now that Tacit has left, there cant be many Folks left in Nebraska... :o...>>>

Quote:
Eighty-nine percent of the cities in Nebraska have fewer than 3,000 people. Nebraska shares this characteristic with five other Midwest states (Kansas, Oklahoma, North and South Dakota, and Iowa). Hundreds of towns have a population of fewer than 1,000.
End quote.

A real lonely place... ::)...!

It was Omaha, Blevue to be exact. My dad was in the USAF at the time and was stationed at Offut. From past posts, H, I assume you were stationed at Offut too. Did it happen to be in 1983?
