I've seen inexpensive homes built from things such as old tires to glass bottles before and I always thought hmm, clever.
Building from scrap aluminum is also clever, I suppose, but I would hate to hazard a guess as to what it cost to buy that at scrap cost and then helicopter it up there. Also, it may ok work in a dry climate, but I wonder if there would be corrosion issues in a wetter area. And what about cold and heat? Aluminum is a very good conductor, as I've noticed from working on semi tractors.

I've seen pictures of some nice condos built out of old shipping containers. I went to Iraq with a guy who wanted to build a house out of shipping containers, but his wife wasn't too keen on the idea....

That technique involves filling the tires with dirt and packing dirt around them; I doubt such houses would be very flammable (except for the stuff inside).

From what I have learned in my younger days, aluminum doesn't rust, that's why we always bought bikes with frames made out of aluminum instead of the steel or chromoly, it was less maintenance, but as far as other corrosives with aluminum goes im not sure what the specifics would be, i just know if you dont want a rusty bike make sure the frame is aluminum

The thought of her flailing her arms around while she explains to me, (in her Malibu accent.... ....), the  construction of her zillion Dollar, daft, aluminium, bits of aeroplane house, fills me with dread.... ...!

...I reckon that "bits of aeroplane" Sales Bloke, has hooked a winner in her!...(perhaps Malibu is full of them?... ...)..... ... ... ...!
