It was thought that the lighthouse, erected in 1881 to overlook the Wellfleet, Mass., harbor had been dismantled and destroyed in 1925. Recently discovered records reveal that the lighthouse at Point Montara, California, is the very same. It was removed from Wellfleet harbor by the U.S. Coast Guard but there are no records indicating how it was moved.
Well, moving it shouldn't have been very difficult -- it is, after all, a 'light' house.
