I never really understood american politics, they say its democratic, but it doesnt look like it from the outside, with only a 2 party system, and how the votes are counted is even stranger, it seems more logical too count individual votes as that makes every vote just as important...

at least we're not on a water sprinkling system. democratic votes counted on even days, republican votes counted on odd days, other votes counted on days not ending in Y. :P

Our state (New Mexico) made a complete joke out of itself with this Caucus. We are currently the laughingstock of the '08 election season, at one point, Rio Rancho High school had the poll booths break down and had close to 2000 people lined up to vote, and then they, along with the entire rest of the state, ran out of ballots. Needless to say many people left thoroughly pissed off. In the end, the Caucus failed, and I would not be surprised if they simply decide to redo it. ::) ::) :-/

17000 votes total, many of which still have not been counted, and we have a population of about 2 million. I'll let you do the math. I'm not yet old enough to vote, but even if I did, it probably wouldn't have mattered at all.

OK, that's enough of the facts.... I really need to leave this state.... I hate politics...

I know... I was there... i didn't get to vote ;) did you actually go to the high school? cause I did... at 6:30pm, after the fire marshal re-opened the polls after the area was reorganized. 3 hour 45 min wait. Other item was the security, you know how some elderly people and the like will have a youngin stand in for them. no go, if you want to vote, you get in line. it was a complete disaster.

there are 3 locations for Rio Rancho, however, due to the expected "low turnout (and they got this news from who?)" they closed the other 2 locations (one being 2 blocks from my house). Now there should have been a contingency plan if more than expected voters showed up  (turns out of the 30,000 democratic voters in Sandoval county, only 6,000 got their vote in, and news estimates 7,500 others didn't bother to attend or left while in line (my mom and I being 2 in the latter)) then another location should have opened, or have a vote extension.

reading the news today, and New Mexico is still waiting for Sandoval County (county i'm in) and is unable to produce a result.

Am I the only person that thinks the name "Huckabee" will further diminish our credibility abroad?  j/k, lol ;D

I think the name who has the most presidential sounding name should be president, and Hilary can't be president because The First Man of the United States* doesn't sound right ;D

*Because the presidents wife is usually called The First Lady ;)

I have to say that the proceedings in Britain's Parliament are far more entertaining than those of our House or Senate sessions. It's almost fun to watch, whereas a House session will put you to sleep. You Brits have all the luck!
