What's going on with Google?  I can't get the site itself to come up, nor does Gmail respond.  Is this occurring with anyone else's computers, or is mine just not communicating corrrectly with the site?

Google works fine for me. I think this is the result of an attack to servers or something earlier.

Well, since everyone else can access it, I guess IE is just not liking the site.  Anyone know if there's a reason why IE wouldn't let me get to Google?

The reason? Simple...It's IE...Trash it and get Firefox

I tried Firefox, and it didn't work either.  So it must be something in the system registry or some such stuff.

This isn't my computer, since I sneezed beer all over my keyboard the other night . . . sucked really bad.  This is my roommates computer, and he's as confounded as I am, since Google worked a couple of days ago.

Any suggestions? :-?

Okay.  Sorry I'm kicking this thread up, but I had a recent development:

I accessed Gmail on a whim through another server (local coffee shop) and managed to log on.  I called my roommate and he came and accessed at the same location.  We then went to another place that offered free net access, and were able to get to Google.  So it seems that our IP is blocked by Google itself.  Is this ringing any bells?  I can't figure out how to contact someone from the site, but I think that might solve the issue, since it is really bugging me that I can't access from home, but everywhere else seems to be fine.

Any clues would be helpful.

Maybe it's a problem with your ISP or local connection. Did you try a tracert?
