Math time...

we haven't been recording weather (or been on earth for that matter) long enough to say there is (or isn't) global warming. The earth is 4.5 billion years old (thats 4,500,000,000 years) humans have been on earth for at the most 100,000 years!!! Humans have been on earth for 0.22% of earths life!!!! And we have only just begun recording the climate!!!!!

4,500,000,000 / 1,000,000 = 0.000022

And dividing that by 100 (to get the percentage) = 0.0022%

Change 100,000 to 30

Change  4,500,000,000 to 100

We know right off the bat that 30 is 30% of 100

Run it through your cross-multiplyer

The Earth isn't fragile. Man's time here is just a teeny phase in its life.. The overall climate didn't know when we weren't here.. doesn't know that we are here... and won't notice when we're gone.

The forces in play, like the sun, volcanoes, the sheer volume of the atmosphere utterly dwarf our influence.

We can't influence atmoshpheric temperatures, any more than we could change the temperature of the ocean (and the ocean's volume is nothing compared to the atmoshpere).

Sure.. for brief, localized events, we can influence what WE sense.. just like dumping a tanker truck full of hot water into a tide-pool could change its temperature, but have no impact on the ocean's temperature... In the big, meaningful picture, we're nothing.. just along for the ride..

The Earth has never done what it is doing in the past 650 000 years, yet now, when Carbon dioxide levels are over 25% higher than they were in 1965, temperature begins to rise. Species are going extinct. Sealevels are rising. All while we're pumping out Co2.

Now, maybe a dramatic increase in Co2 is caused by something else, or maybe, right when we dramatically increase Co2 output, Co2 goes up as does temperature? I think you guys should atleast accept the possibility that it may be us causing the damage not some crazy cycle the earth goes through (even though it hasn't in 650 000 years).

A million (or more) more species have become extinct, than there are current species existing now... and what's never mentioned, is the species that wil not go extinct because of a climate change. That's a wash. Remember.. these things happen on time scales that are beyond our grasp.

Now.. even if there was a convincing argument for man causing this.. the solutions would be worse for civilization than the problem.. and THAT's assuming that it's a problem. Who's to say that a slightly warmer planet isn't a net, good thing ?

We're about as likely to stop being industrial (or alter our industry enough to make a difference in time to matter) as beavers are likely to stop building dams..

1. How do you know that? and even if it hasn't, compare 650,000 years to the age of earth (4,500,000,000 years)
2. By about .6 Degrees Celsius globaly.
3. So whats new? Species always have and always will go extinct, even before man, millions of species lived and died out here on earth.
