Probably still just adjusting... you practically came home from another planet, when you think about it. Stresses out the system. How are you sleeping these days?

I've wondered if it has something to do with re-adjusting to the colder climate. I try my best to keep a regular sleep cycle, and I almost always go to bed around 11:00 pm, give or take 20 minutes at the most. I get up at 630 am at the latest. As for sleeping, my quality of sleep isn't great. sometimes I have a hard time falling asleep, I dream a lot, I wake up a lot, and sometimes i'll simply wake up after a few hours of sleep without being able to go back to sleep.

Do you think it could be linked to my metabolism?

Diets don't work, as soon as you come off them the pounds pile back on! Trust me I've watched several female relatives going through this dozens of times ::)
Basically start with a gentle half-hours exercise a day (something that leaves you a little sweaty and your lungs labouring a tad but not sounding like a fifty-a-day bod at the end of a marathon).
My weight goes up and down like a tarts knickers! Alas due to a series of injuries sustained over the years I can't do certain exercises anymore but I've learned to adapt my training programs. At the moment I've just finished the Xmas/New Year binge with my best friend and currently look a little large (read a good 20-30 pounds over what I should be). So no booze, no sugary drinks and back to press-ups etc for a bit ;D

My sleep pattern is identical to Andrews....

...but the main reason for mine is the fact that because I am at home every day and do little or no exercise, I frequently "cat-nap" throughout the day with the result that I need very little sleep during the night, constantly dreaming and waking up.

I have no problem with this because I know that during the past 24 hours, I have had sufficient sleep, overall...;)..!

For anyone worried about weight problems, etc, I would advise visiting the Doctor* and obtain a Blood Test....It can often be put down to an over-active, or under-active Thyroid Gland (located in the front of the neck).
This regulates the metabolism of the body, and needs to be in equilibrium....;)..!
If there are problems, it can be corrected with daily medication.
I take a small tablet daily to correct an under-active Thyroid Gland....keeps me in good order... :)...!

Paul.... 8-)...!

* ..get your Prostrate Gland checked as well, while you are there...trust me...(It could save your life!)....;)...!

The two words; "Mountain" and "Biking", never did fit together very well with me... ::)...!

The very thought of "Exercise" makes me feel extremely tired, and fills me with dread!... :o...!

Paul....A great advocate of "Resting"!.... ;)..... ;D...!

I'm not a doctor; I don't even play one on TV... ;D

But ...sure, good sleep is important; it all works together. Lousy sleep can contribute to sluggishness and poor appetite- I know that from experience. And I guess there's a feedback loop- if you are feeling a little run-down and not eating well, you probably won't sleep well.
Dreaming is good; means you're getting into REM sleep, but of course bad dreams mess up your whole night. When I have a disturbing dream I take a little time to think about what it might mean, that seems to help sometimes. If you're having bad dreams about your little "vacation" overseas, I'd advise you to talk about them with somebody who's been there. Can't hurt.

My more common problem is I go to bed too late usually, but I have in the past tried a few pushups before hitting the sack or something, if I've been lying there trying to sleep... or chamomile tea, believe it or not. A little reading helps me, too... not TV; that tends to make it harder for me to fall asleep.

I'd agree with Fozzer on that, the "prostrate" gland is notorious for not getting up, staying in that prostrate position... flat on it's back.  ;D  ;D

The prostate gland is another matter... Rubber gloves anyone?
