I know the Mossie was made out of wood...but look at the F-117. Faceted design. RAM coating. Quite small in comparison to other planes. And even it, has a SMALL radar signature. Very small, but still visible, canceling the idea of true stealth. The wooden wonder may have had a reduced radar signature, but it was still visible.

As for the FOAB. Meh, nothing special, no pretty fireworks compared to the Tsar. When a country makes a bomb that can be seen from hundreds of kilometers away, produces a shockwave that travels the Earth three times before stopping, has the capability to wipe out half a state, (in theory) nearly cripples an entire nations silk industry because this bomb alone required so much raw nylon to act as a fall retardant, and has a mushroom cloud that rises to such a height, you don't want to mess with it.

Much of what was in it was metal (engines, guns, seats, etc.) but the old tube radar units weren't quite as effective, either.

These man made wonders are still nothing compared to the power of nature. The owl cannot be heard in flight, volcanoes make these bombs seem like a fart in a bath, an ant can lift 6 times its own body weight, spiders silk is stronger than steel etc etc.
We've got a long way to go before we're REALLY clever ;D

We stick spider silk onto an owl, add some ants for landing gear, and place a volcano on its rear for propulsion. Of course, the landing gear and volcano will be stuck on using the spider silk.

:-? I'm not sure clever is the beneficial application here, Ozzy.
Just how far into eternity do you want us to send ourselves in one blast?

The good old wooden mosquito also apparently didn't show up on german radar...

And apparently had on heck of a payload for it's diminutive size. :o That's a different subject though.

Nature's been at it for a couple hundred million years.  We're mere babies in comparison.  I'd say we've come a long way in a relatively short time.  :)

The russians always had spleen regarding big things.

Tsar Kolokol: A bell so large (216tons) that it probabely would have broken
any spire when beeing rang.. Thank god it broke before they could try ;)

Tsar Pushka: A Cannon that large.. that a cannon ball would have weighted 2 tons.

Tsar Bomba: A 100mgt Hydrogen Bomb. Actually there was no city in the world big enough
were dropping this bomb would have made sense.
