While I agree in some respects, the idea of transferring data like they showed between the camera, table and phone is pretty revolutionary, the speed at which the picture was sent from the camera to the table was pretty impressive.

I can't wait to see this in shops and homes, but as with many things (even if it supposedly is going to be released by the end of this year) I doubt it will make a quick entrance into everyday life, and will stay the play toy of the rich and famous for years to come...

they said a market price of around $5000 - $10,000 which i dnt think is that high for that technology, so maybe it wnt just be a toy for the rich. i saw a very similar product a while ago.... and it wasnt made by microsoft.... origional idea by ass

Sure it is.  It's an evolutionary step in touch computing.  1st of all, it's a table, not some delicate touch screen, it appears to be more resiliant.  Plus the os seems more intuitive than the old palm pilots and touch screen ATMs.  In the old days of computing, humans had to think more like computers to use them.  The challenge for computer scientists is to make computers respond to how humans naturally think.   We've been approaching this goal more and more.  This seems to be a next step.  Moving pictures around a table is a natural human activity.  It takes extra computing power to accomodate that.  Plus, dragging and dropping whole pictures, not thumbnails, with no lagging is not a trivial feat.  I think we risk getting easily bored and unimpressed with new technology without thinking about what it takes to put this stuff together.

I see great things to come for computers of this type... but not just yet... for now it's only a gadget... Wait until the interactive touchscreens become mainstream and people actually come up with great new ways to use them, not only for show, but also for work, entertainment, ect...

I'm dreaming of a homebuild cockpit in a room with all the walls, floor and ceiling covered with screens... as real as it gets!  ;D
