Yeah you know how many right answers got cut out of that clip. Lets not forget people get nervous when a camera is in there face. But I have to agree, not by this clip, that there are a bunch here that need to educate themselves a bit more.

Oh my gosh, this is so stupid. I can answer almost all of these questions. Don't worry, most Americans aren't stupid like this. I think this video is either edited or they asked people out of low class areas where people are more likely to be stupid because of lack of education.

Ouch.... That really does not put America in a better light....  :-/  To be honest though, when that was filmed I bet that they got a whole bunch of correct answers but they edited it and only showed the dumb ones.... making it seem as if all Americans are like this.... Also the people they targeted didn't look 'intelligent' and they were more likely to get dumb answers.

Still... it goes to show that there are still a few people in the states who do not have a clue about themselves and the rest of the world.... And people wonder why Bush is still in power!  ::) ;D

I live in Australia where this show comes from.

They very rarely take the Pi$$ out of other country's, but this one seems quite popular on youtube.

Search CNNNN on youtube if you want to see more of there work, these guys are very good at political humour.

Remember search for CNNNN or Chaser Nonstop News Network. Very funny people, although a lot of there stuff is Australia based humour.

[joke]Although it looks like the Yanks might not get it.[/joke]  ;)

There's idiots everywhere, but in larger countries, they appear in greater quantities.

But in America, idiocy takes the craziest shapes...like those museums on evolution incorporataing the bible...or all those warning labels...

People are not "stupid" due to a lack of education, they are uneducated.

This is just another Borat moment.  I wonder how many different people they had to interview to find the ones that couldn't answer the questions.  To me, it's a cheap media stunt.  Now if they said they interviewed x number of people and y couldn't answer the questions, then that's different.

I'm totally with John on this one, it is the system that is failing. The politicians, sociologists and lawyers have been dipping in and messing things about which has ruined the system.
I'm now watching exactly the same thing happen in Hungary. It is amazing how many of my students know their rights but don't have a clue about their responsiblities!
Ignorance would be a better word than stupidity. Ignorance implies a lack of knowledge. If you want really good, the best one is that in Hungary the people considered the biggest thickies are the police. Basically if you fail secondary school you can either be a soldier, policeman or unemployed 'cos you're more dim than a 2 watt bulb (even McDonalds won't employ you). Last week on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire one of the contestants was a policeman. The first question was about a famous Hungarian childrens story (I'm foreign and even I knew the right answer).... he got the answer wrong much to the delight of the whole country ;D ;D ;D
