LMAO, I wonder what the official land speed record is for a wheelchair? I think I'd be pretty darn impressed with the construction of a wheelchair that can hit 50 mph and maintain that speed for 4 miles w/o falling apart. Bet those tires were smoking....lmao

And to think my mum used to complain about me pushing her in a wheel chair when I was a kid after her botched hip replacement. Honestly I don't think I got above 25mph (okay I did take corners on 2 wheels with me hanging off the back but hey I never crashed) ;D

Saw/heard the story on the local news tonight. The tires had to be replaced. The news had a clip of him doing circles in the tire shop. I reckon he was testing out his new treads. ;D They also showed his burned up tires sitting on the floor of the shop. There was also a still photo showing him stuck to the grill of the semi and a recoreded 9-1-1 call of a motorist describing his dilema to an emergency services operator.
Yes, apparantly, life has officially become a cartoon. ;D ;D

How do you get stuck on the grill of a semi-truck? Doesnt that mean he had to be riding his wheelchair on the freeway :-? ;D

The story implied he was crossing the street and the truck driver didn't see him and somehow his wheelchair's handles got wedged in the truck's grill.

I think he did it on purpose.  After all: he wasn't upset, he didn't try to sue or anything, the wheelchair arms were mysteriously stuck in the grill . . . etc.

I think he was riding in front of it and decided he wanted a push . . . he just didn't realize just how much of a push he would actually be getting!

So now how long is it going to be before some buffoon rigs up some kind of wheeled chair that he attaches to the front of a pick-up truck and goes down the road in it, his buddy at the wheel? Give a kid an idiotic idea and sooner or later, he will put it into action.
