How do I put up an avatar of my own choosing? I have some pictures of the most beautiful woman I have ever seen. I want to put them up one at a time over a period of time. How is it done? The originals are about 150 x 250 pixels...

The originals are 4x6 photoprints. I have scanned them and have them as .jpg files, I think they are. Is the size reduced to avatar-friendly (or is it moderator-friendly?) size when I do the thing-a-ma-jig to make them an avatar?

I do not recall if I have ever asked this question before. I do not think I have...

I just looked at them in the sizes they were scanned. They range in size from about 78Kb all the way up to 438Kb. What makes them smaller for use as a 'tar?
