If I didn't know better I'd swear that's a photoshop.

Any reason in particular? :-?

Just the obvious reason: that looks like a full size 747, not an RC model.  My comment is a compliment to the modeler, it's so good I initially thought the photo was a fake.

As an experienced R/C modeller I can appreciate the technical achievement but don't really see much point in these behemoths. They would be very difficult to store and transport. Once you've test flown the thing & proved it flies I don't see what fun you could get out of it. Maybe it's me but I would much rather have a small semi-scale aerobatic type that will fit in the back of my car.

A sense of achievement and pride must be part of it!

To be honest, I'd rather have a large scale model than a twitchy little aerobat. I'm not a fan of seeing electric Mustangs that can turn on a dime, as the realism is lost - realism being something I prefer in a model.

Of course, each to their own.

I don't see the pleasure in flying a model jet airliner of any scale. Not a lot you can do with it except take off, fly a circuit & land it. You would also need a large field with a hard runway to fly it from & they're not so easy to come by in my part of the world. The larger models are usually nicer to fly but the size is not that important. The realism depends on you & how you fly it. :P ;)

Very true. I'd rather have something like a Vulcan which can actually be thrown around a bit!

I agree that would be more interesting. I seem to remember seeing a large-scale Vulcan somewhere. I would like to try a few Alex Henshaw antics with a large-scale model Lancaster. Now that would be fun. ;)

Probably the model featured here:
http://www.largemodelassociation.com/jets.htm

I've seen the Victor at the bottom of the page. Very nice model it is, too.

More info on the Victor here:
