Did she not notice that the suspension was trying to shake it self to bits as she drove over the sleepers...............Or, maybe it was a case of, my goodness there are an awful lot of sleeping policemen on this road ::)
I think you all have the wrong idea. She was attempting to cross the railway track, not driving down it. With this type of crossing you have to open the gates manually, drive across the track & then close them again. These crossings are typically in use on private land in rural areas and do not have automatic gates. It's not the sort of thing you would find on a main road. I doubt that many people in the UK have ever used one.
OK, I reread, and this young lady said,"and I put my complete trust in the sat nav and it led me right into the path of a speeding train,"........No, you led your car in the path of a speeding train, not your Sat Nav by ignoring the signs and warning and not knowing your Highway code.
"The crossing wasn't shown on the sat nav, there were no signs at all and it wasn't lit up to warn of an oncoming train...............What about the red circle on the gate, again Highway code!!
"I came to this crossing at Ffynongain and there was like a metal gate, which looked like just a normal farmers' gate with a red circle on it"............That will be the gate with a red circle that appears in the Highway code then to indicate unmanned level crossings then!
"I thought it was a dead end at first and then there was a little sign saying, if the light is green, open the gates and drive through...............But a train was coming,so it must have been red???? AND did you not say two sentences before that there was "no signs at all".
God, I do hope that she does not breed.
