A disgusting display...

Gordon wins under caution, moves past Earnhardt on career wins list

I thought German Soccer hooligans were bad.  Turns out American NASCAR fans aren't far behind.  Earnhardt fans were throwing beer cans and trash onto the track after Jeff Gordon won at Talladega, Earnhardt's home track.  To top it off, it turns out Earnhardt and Gordon were good friends before his death.  Seems to me if they were really fans, they would know that and appreciate it.  Personally, I have always liked Jeff Gordon...

I heard about that on the radio earlier today.  I agree, it's tacky.  Very bad form.   :-/

I'm with you Kevin.  That was awful to see.  Like I tell everyone, 99.5% of NASCAR fans are exactly what you think they are.  I've never really been that big of a Jeff Gordon fan, and heck, last year after he tangled with Matt Kenseth a couple times, I really didn't like him, but things have cooled down, and I don't mind him so much any more, but this is outrageous.  It's embarrassing for a sport that's trying to become more mainstream, but it seems they're just digging themselves into a hole, and alienating the true fans.

Put a NASCAR fan, an English soccer fan, and a German soccer fan into a cage match.  Who will be the victor?   :D

Not proud to say, probably the British hooligan!

A few years ago the same thing happened on the RAC rally. Some British fans dumped a tree on a special stage to slow down Carlos Sainz so that Colin McRae could win.
Then there were those idiots cutting the tails off of stingrays after Steve Irwins death ::)

If you want to get technical, Dale Earnhardt's home track is Charlotte. :P
