The lady in the story is suffering from Electro Magnetic fields surrounding her. EM fields caused by telephones, microwaves, WI-FI and so on. What strikes me most is the fact that the entire planet is surrounded by one big EM field, the sun constantly shoots EM fields into space (also in our direction) and other natural ways of EM fields and yet I don't read anywhere she has a problem with that.

I think it is mostly in her mind.

"Electrosmog" has pretty much been proven to be harmless. The long-term use of cell phones has yet to be fully studied, but... read here about the "flawed epidemiogical study" that supposedly started this panic:
