Anyone seen Topgear tonight?

Postby Omag 2.0 » Sun Feb 25, 2007 4:42 pm

Not about the cars or shall we say tractors... but about the thing Jeremy was pulling in the "drag-race"... What kind of 747 was that? Instead of RR or GR engines, it was equiped with some smaller, dual turbines... I never saw anything like that...

It was the James bond Skyfleet 500 or something like that

Aces High Modified 747.... I knew They'd use it at some time.....

Really nice!!

A nice fact actually is that Volkswagen made a commercial of a Touareg pulling that thing a long as well 8-)

Only at Dunsfold baby!

and soui's favorite Holiday destination!

Skyfleet 570. Yes the same one which made me vomit my popcorn up when I saw it in Casino Royale.  ::) They murdered that plane AND the 007 series.  :-/

As Soui says, it's the Aces High 747-236B. (Formerly British Airways G-BDXJ). Been resident at Dunsfold since May 2005. The engines have been removed & it's now used as a film set. http://commanderbond.net/article/3373

I took these photos of it at the Wings & Wheels event back in August last year. Note it's been modified as the fictional Skyfleet for the latest Bond film. The engines are dummies.

Dunsfold was used to represent Miami Airport in the film.
