A PC headmistress has banned Mothers day cards incase it upsets someone who has no contact with a "birth mother"  ::) ::)

No Mothers day

1. Captain, if the problem is not entered into the technical logbook.........then the aircraft does not have a problem.
2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.

No Mothers day

Matt

I've never met mine and I've never been upset about mothersday, since I have an adoptive mother.

Personally I feel that Helen Starkey should have some sense beaten into her with a bloomin' big stick ::)

reminds me of the kid who was suspended from school because he formed his hand in the shape of a gun.

or the kindergarden student who was suspended for sexual harassment because he kissed a fellow classmate on the cheek

One of the reasons why I'm all for nukes. They should end this cancer named humanity pretty quickly.

No more humans - no more stupid people.  8-)

That is so stupid. Punish the majority so as not to offend the minority. I think I'll stop wearing shoes so that I will not to offend the .3% of the population who have had their feet amputated. ::)

That is just beyond beyond, if you know what I mean.

I can only wonder if this adopted person made the complaint or if Starkey decided to make a stink about it because she couldn't think of some other way for the "motherless" students to participate...regardless, it's unfair.
And as Plutonian pointed out so well, "mother" means a whole lot more than carrying a baby to term and delivering it.
Just about everybody has some mother-figure in their life, and then there's grandmas, etc... I don't get it.

The logical extension of this would be to say that if anyone in the world is sad for any reason, nobody should be allowed to be happy. It's idiotic.

I lost my mother when I was very young, and Mother's Day is not the happiest holiday for me, but I wouldn't dream of denying others the chance to honor the women who raised and nurtured them.

Does this lady have children, I wonder?   ::)
