Well, as a reformed trekkie (the apellation 'trekker' is reserved for pretentious wannabe's) I can tell you I have met some pretty wierd characters in my day.  Some of these people really do BELIEVE this stuff and will swear up and down it's true.  Eventually, most of realize Star Trek was nothing but a money making machine for Paramount and move on, but a wacked out few will never give it up...

BTW, the new Battlestar Galactica kicks every show's but that's out there...  STARBUCK RULES!  :)  and she's hot to boot...
