Happens.

Even though being out on my own fairly often, I never had problems with anyone.

Guess I'm living in the real paradise then.

P.S: No E.U. bashing or I'll have some stabs at the UK.

God bless concealed hand gun laws here in Texas... if someone starts kicking the schitt out of a friend of mine for no good reason they better be ready to meet my Colt .45

Yeah, and because of these great hand gun laws you can be sure that this someone will be armed too.
Because of these great hand gun laws YOU can be shot rather than have a "normal" fight.

Throw all your guns in the ocean.

This is getting a bit political/prejudiced. Please cool it guys or I'll have to lock the thread. We've had the pro/anti-gun argument I don't know how many times and it always ends in tears.... mind you that is what happens when we lock anyone in the broom cupboard with Kevins toilet! Makes CS gas look like perfume ;D

vavavoon has a very valid point. i was out in town on thrusday night for a friends 18th birthday, me and another lad hadnt eaten much so we went to line out stomachs for a night of heavy drinking. but as we were heading to the fast good joint some gimp was stood walking in the middle of the road with his mate while some one else was trying to drive down it. he honked his horn, flashed his lights but he wouldnt move over. so this guy yelled get out the f***ing way one last time, the eejit in the road walks up to his window and starts asking for a fight. its stupid.
and on the whole EU thing i agree it is stupid how we law abiding citizens suffer so a criminal can have some rights.
the country is great the EU are not so great!

Personally I think that as soon as you commit a crime you really should lose your human rights.

I get fed up of hearing about burglars sueing homeowners because they've injured themselves whilst burgling somebody's house, the sad thing is that they get away with it. They should be laughed out of court.

Sometimes justice works. There was a British judge a few years back who caught the friend of a person on trial threatening a witness. Threw him against a wall, put him in an armlock, called a nearby policeman and sent the guy down for 6 months on the spot for intimidating a witness ;D
I can't remember his proper name but he got the nickname Judge Dredd 'cos he was a biker 8-)

"great britain is not so great"

Agreed

(ben - a brit).

P.S Having done all that law stuff for England I know exactly where you are coming from. You did the right thing and ran away. For your information the maximum those blokes would get if caught is around 6 months of which they'd actually serve 3 months. In reality the judge wouldn't even do that and would probably give them community service or a suspended sentence (no sentence if they go on to be good). I would have to know more on the case to give a fuller answer. If you are in Scotland - my sister is doing scottish law at the same uni, but I don't know anything of that. :D

...yet last week a judge had to throw out a case where the Crown Prosecution Service were prosectuting a fish and chip shop owner and his son, who is a soldier, for making a citizen's arrest against a 12 year old yob. The were being charged with kidnap.
