GREAT Britain...is not so GREAT

Postby VVM » Fri Feb 02, 2007 9:25 pm

this will probably be the most serious post i will EVER write on SimV.  tonight i went out with three friends for a few drinks and at 00:30 GMT we decided to go home.  me and one of my friends decided to go for something to eat (we needed change for the bus) so we headed off 100 yards up to a take-a-way.  whilst waiting for our food, my frined looked out the window and said to me 'look, **** and **** are getting done in' and to my horror 3 bas****s were kicking the living s***t out of my other two friends.  we both ran outside to try to calm the situation down - now i know at this pont some of you may think that we were just roudy youths (20 yrs old) up for a fight with anyone who looks the wrong way at us.  i promise you this is not the case, none of us have ever had any dealings wth the police, because out parents brought us up right and we know how to behave in society - but even though we out numbered the b******s 4-3 they were really going for us.  in the end my friends and i split and ran.

my first issue is that how in gods name are scum of the earth wasters walking our streets.  they clearly were out for a fight, and more than likely had a criminal record as long as my arm.  second, when i phoned for the police (as i watched my friends get kicked in) i was put ON HOLD!!!.   WHAT IN GODS NAME IS THAT ALL ABOUT!  im standing watching my frineds getting done in, whilst some machine tells me that all lines are busy and I have to wait.  i work and pay taxes, i SHOULD NOT HAVE TO BLOODY WAIT TO GET THROUGH TO THE POLICE!!!  and lets be honest, what was the f*****g point, they would only have been given some s**t excuse for a sentence, and because our prisons are 'over crowded' they would have been let free any way, due to the oh so smart european eunion.  HANG ON, what about my human rights?!?  where did they go?  down the toilet, thats where.  i know for a fact that if me and my friends hand fought back we would ahve been in court because the justice system is so swayed to the criminals side in this country.  and i for one, am fed up with it!!  and WE the people of britain are the only people who can sort it.  we need to make a stand.  we need to tell the european union to shove their huamn rights where the snu does not shine!! we need to decide what WE do with OUR criminals.  i could not care less if 10 prisoners are in a cell designed for 5.

essentially what i am saying is that we need to treat criminals like what they are....SCUM.  its about time the law abiding citizen of 'great' britain was supported by the courts.  we need to stop this problem, before its to late.

im not ashamed to tell you i have written this post crying, yes thats right, a 20 year old man crying.  i dont EVER want to experience that again, and i hope that nobody here has to go through what i went through only 3(ish) hours ago.

Scott

p.s. sorry if some of this does not make any sense, im still quite shaken up.

Tis safe to say that there are some absolute sh*ts out there, and the police at the moment are just an administrative mess. Makes you want to live in a police state sometimes doesn't it. :P

Aaaaalright. This is going to be locked anyway, but DONT BLAME THE EU for having a fight in a street friday night! This kinda things just happen anywhere, in the US, in India, China, Australia...I had some fights myself but cmon, this has NOTHING to do with human rights, and as a 20 year old you should know this.

i could not care less if 10 prisoners are in a cell designed for 5.

Wow. How severe. I almost wish you to go to jail once.

First of all, that sounds terrifying..

Secondly...SH*T HAPPENS!  I don't quite see the need in bashing the whole country or the whole EU because someone jumped your friends and the police weren't any help.  It's unfortunate that there are people out there who would do such a thing but there are a lot worse things that can happen.  I mean, last year at my school someone was stabbed, and someone else was killed in a shooting (not at school, mind you)

I understand you're frustration and how shaken you must be, but seriously, be more grateful that nothing worse happened than more angry at everyone because something happened

I'm sorry to hear that happened Vavavoom, I agree that those kinds of people should be locked away in an actual prison, not one of these "cushy" extended stay "hotels".  Hell, if someone commits a crime (you know, purposely trying to steal from someone like you or me, trying to beat or assault someone like you or me, or some of the more heinous crimes) lock them somewhere where they'll be sorry they F'ed with you.  Prisons now are almost luxurious, with three hot meals a day, a bed and toilet for every one or two prisoners, often times access to televisions, books, things to pass the time with, and no requirement to work or do anything while in prison.  Prisoners who deserve it should be put in an 8'x8'x7' cell with nothing in it but a bedpan.  That might make the guy holding the gun to your head think twice before he pulls the trigger.  Instead, he knows if he pulls the trigger, some human rights group or some attorney will go to bat for him saying, "his parents didn't hug him enough", or "he had a bad day", and he'll get off with going to prison where the taxpayers will feed him, clothe him, and provide him a bed to sleep in.  It's ridiculous, anyone trying to F with me or my friends will wish they could live in a tiny cell the rest of their lives, but people don't usually mess with a guy who's 6'5" and 225 lbs.  I hope tomorrow is better Vavavoom, and I hope start to people realize that human rights are for those who deserve them, not those who abuse them.

Alright, maybe it was a bit harsh, but things like this make my blood boil.

Vavavoom, I'm sure you're a perfectly reasonable person, and as such, you will probably retract many of the things you said in your post 24 hours from now.  None the less, I sympathize with you.  I have been lucky enough never to be caught in the middle of crap like that but I'm really sorry your number was drawn.

Your nation IS a great one... a few bad apples shouldnt spoil the bunch.

The same could be said of the USA.

Im sorry that happened to you, God bless concealed hand gun laws here in Texas... if someone starts kicking the schitt out of a friend of mine for no good reason they better be ready to meet my Colt .45

Of course i wouldn't shoot without a direct threat to my life, but a pistol will scatter trashy thugs in a hurry.

Perfectly stated.  How is it that I everyone else says what I'm trying to say, but in four sentances, instead of an essay? :P ;)

That's not the point he's trying to get at. He's basically saying that because of the EU's laws, the government in the UK are powerless to really punish a criminal, if it breaches their own human rights.

I won't go further into it, due to the fact that it's politics really, but I thought I'd explain what he meant. ;)

You think you've got it bad. Here in Hungary the police won't even come out if I'm attacked 'cos I'm a foreigner. When my flat was done over they wouldn't come out 'cos I was a foreigner. When my car was done over they wouldn't come out 'cos I was a foreigner.
When someone (a neighbour) made a false accusation against me being involved in a fatal car crash they were round like a shot ::)
Living in a police state run by bent morons isn't any better ::)

Remember what Tony Blair said:

Education, Education, Education

So what's happened - kids stay on "at" school (never turn up and/or just act disruptively) - they don't go and and learn a trade, sit around doing nothing, and end up as complete losers who turn to crime for entertainment...

...and of course, those lovely EU "Human Rights" (don't be nasty to criminals) laws, and Amnesty International/Liberty ("Ahh, they've had a hard upbrining") look to appease and excuse whatever these criminals get up too. Amusingly, when the prisons filled up last week, an ex-military establishment's accommodation was going to have to be upgraded to be fit for criminals to live in it. According to our Government, it was good enough for service personnel (who willingly put their lives on the line for their country) to live in, but not in a habitable standard for common criminals (thieving scum).

i SHOULD NOT HAVE TO BLOODY WAIT TO GET THROUGH TO THE POLICE!!!
You should come the USA if you don't want to have to wait to get through the the police. Here in the USA a call to the police must always get through otherwise you can probably sue them.  ;) It's up to you.  :)

I might have read this if it had some punctuation.

Maybe you should have read it - then you'd realise how shaken up vavavoom was at the time. I hardly think punctuation was the first thing on his mind. What Vavavoom really needed was some back up from his friends at the V, not an English lesson.

but a pistol will scatter trashy thugs in a hurry.

I'd be worried that the trashy thugs are more than likely to be carrying concealed guns themselves - & are also more likely to think less before using them.

Sorry to hear about your ordeal Vavavoom, lets just hope you don't have to tolerate scum like that again.

All the best,

TSC.
