I started with Sublogic's version of Flight Simulator 2.0, on the Apple IIe.  Some time around the mid 80's.
Then 95, 98, 2002, and 2004.  Skipped 2000.

I played around with a few commodore 64 simulators, Chuck Yeager's Flight Simulator, and an old Mig 29 Fulcrum game I had for my 8080, 286, and 386. I was first introduced to the MSFS series with FS4 back in '95. Our family than got a new PC, and I got FS95. I logged several hundred hours on that untill I bought FS98 in '99. Logged hundreds of more hours untill I bought FS2000. Only logged about a hundred or so hours in that. I bought FS2002 two days after it was released. Logged 600 hours in Fs2002. I bought FS2004 the day after it was released. I think I have almost 800 hours in that, but It's been a while since i've done any sim flying, so I couldn't tell you the exact amount of time I have logged in that. When I get back home and build a new PC, i'll be getting FSX ;D

Started on a flight simulator writtne for the Sinclar ZX-81 with the 64K RAM module.   Z80 processor.
Predated both the Timex computer and the Sinclair Spectrum by quite a bit.

I've been flying sims since the time that there was one for the MSX(2?). Don't remember the number or who made it. Before that time I just spread my arms, made some noise and pretended to be an aircraft. I'm still very happy with FS9 so until I can build a PC that can run FSX smoothly I'll be flying that.

Crash ;)

Lets see...Started back in 1998 after my first real life flight.  Had an old 166Mghz IBM and found myself with a copy of Sierra Pro Pilot...from then on I was hooked.  Ended up pretty much by accident with FS98 after I bought what I thought was a 747 sim, but it was really the Jumbo Jet addon.  So naturaly...I wanted to fly the big boys so ended up buying FS98.  Eventualy I bought FS2000 but no computer I had could run it smoothly and the place I bought it from doesnt take returns on opened games.  By the time I did get a computer that could run it...already had FS2002 and was enjoying it much more and still am ;)

Tried FS2004 awhile back...got a slide show...FSX looks worse on this computer then my current 2002 setup if I want good frames, so sticking to FS2002 till I can afford a new rig :P

With my 1st computer in 1999. A few here would correctly guess that CFS1 was my 1st FS* (1st successful flight was with the stock, icky-green Sopwith Camel). I later got FS95, 98, CFS2 and 2k2 at clearance sales; just before I got CFS2, I got CFS3 at a discount price but uninstalled it after a few uses. Somewhere along the line I also acquired Jane's WWII Fighters, Warbirds, F-15, Battle of Britain, European Air War (now broken) and Crimson Skies.

* Technically, some space sims qualify as flight sims; in such case, Star Trek Academy would have been my 1st and CFS1 2nd; I've Tie Fighters and Rogue Squadron, also.

Since before it was copy protected, if that gives any clue. Sometime in the mid-80's on a Leading Edge Model D 8088. It had a whopping 40MB HDD.  ;D
The sim was either FS 2.0 or FS 3.0. I also had SubLogic's Jet. Anybody swap scenery between the two? I still have the manuals for both, but my older brother lost the software.  :'(

I started playing Flight Simulator back before they needed version numbers as there was only one version.  I never suspected back then that there'd ever be a version 2.0.  The fact that we're up to version 10 blows my mind.  I still find myself hitting ESC to get to the menu...  :)
