It's happened to most of us and sometimes it isn't the fault of the original poster. However in your case you should know better than to post that sort of stuff.

Having read the original thread, unless a post or two was deleted, can't see what was that wrong, unless it was a preventative measure.

Did it get locked due to what I said?
If so the forum police are starting to get a little to strict ;D

The thread should never have been started. Regardless if what anyone said it was doomed from the beginning. The fact that everyone was civil means that it was only locked and not deleted.

I don't know locking a thread on a major historic event seems rather strict. especially since it was civil. Sure it may have gotten out of hand after awhile but that is when such decisions should be made not as a "prevented  measure" without explanation as to why it has been censored.

When a "civil" thread is lock without a understanding it makes all who participated in it look as if they did something wrong ;)

I am not a noob to the forum thing and run a few of my own and I know what comes of locking something prematurely and it is this ,another thread wanting a explanation and/or new threads on the same topic but with more bitter replies than the original.

Maybe if it was a Saddam Hussein Died with a sad smiley it would have been looked upon differently? After all I never seen any other "death" threads locked.

Well... civil or not, the thread was political and, as you all know, that is a big no-no on this site. We all just have to accept that. If you want to talk about this sort of stuff then I'm sure there are plenty of other forums around for you.  :)

Im not gonna go into my political opinions and try and re-errect the locked thread, but basically I hate the way people just believe all the junk that George W spouts, and then act pleased about the hanging of another human being, of which they have no real knowledge about... :-X Think its sick.

hehe my toned down rant over also ;D
