I was kind of in the same boat as you but I went with the Jets because they have more to play for and seem to be on a roll.  If the Jets win out they could very well go to the playoffs, the Dolphins are out of that race already.  Plus, with that horrible defeat by the Bills last weekend (which killed any Miami playoff hopes) I figure that the Dolphins may have lost any momentium they had.  I am personally rooting for Miami (mainly because their QB is Harrington) but I think the Jets will win.

So has the king of the frozen tundra taken his final snap?
For some reason I dont think so. I really didn't get that retirement feeling that last year seemed to have. Brett's said he still wants to go. I feel he's still their best chance of winning now. And hey like i said before, I am planning to goto the Denver Green Bay game next season. He HAS to return :) Much like Elway though I wont be buying a Favre Jersey till he does retire. But I can wait ;D

I think he'll be back next season, there is little doubt in my mind.  But, once again he'll drag it out until the last minute.  I think that when he finally decides to quit, he'll announce it early on.  The longer he drags it out, the more likely his return.

Plus, I think he is eyeing the all time career attemps and TD records.  He already has taken the completion record from Marino and those other two will probably come next season.  The yards record may come next season as well, but he'll have to have a solid season as he is slightly more than 4000 yards short as of now.

Favre is currently 176 attempts and 7 TD passes short of tying both records.  He broke the completions record a week ago and is exactly 4146 yards short of Marino's amazing 61361 career passing yards.  So, I think the first two records are definately going to fall if Favre returns next season.  However, the yards record may still stand.  But, with the possibility of becoming the stastically most prolific passer to ever play, I think Favre will return.

If it was me, I would probably do the same thing Jerry Rice did...he played until the wheels fell off.  I know that people have said that doing that tarnishes a great career, but if you can still play...play as long as you can.  At least, thats what I would do.
