i know that this post is a little vocal, but nobody should take offense.
i know this was posted along time ago, but i would have to agree with Cobra in that until (i am speaking to the music industry) you reduce prices, i won't buy from you! i'm not buying a cd for 20 bucks for about 5 songs that i'll rip to my pc and actually use! i don't listen to much music anymore, because i'm only 14, and i can't afford outrageous prices! I now turn my attention to the computer software industry- i bought the software, i'll damn well install it on any computer i want. i bought the software, and if lose the f***ing activation code, i am not buying another one. one more thing. what if i want ms office for all of my 5 computers in each of my houses. what if i want to install it on my 3 computers at my home in ohio, but i also want to install it on my 2 in flordia. that's not piracy, that's just me trying to get my schoolwork done in what ever part of the country i am in! the company's will all survive, but they all require major restructuring. this would include only selling manufacturer to end-consumer, through individual downloads ( that would be under 50 cents for each individual song. the age of the album must end, or the music companys willl be ruined! also, instead of sticking with good old mp3, come up with manufacturer specific filetypes, as well as record company approved players. sorry, but people that have a problem with piracy don't relize that companys have dug their own grave. piracy will never be stopped. it can't be. the record companys must solve their own problems, not expect the consumer to behave and the government to be the police. the government shouldn't even be invlovled woth this. they need to defend us against murderers and spend more on curing cancer, alternative energy, and stopping war. sorry, but this subject annoys me to the CORE
