Whatever the cause it seems to me that the problem is not confined to Britain.

The country with the highest literacy rates in the world, where over 99% of the adult population can read and write is Cuba. Says something for the first world doesn't it. :P

1. Captain, if the problem is not entered into the technical logbook.........then the aircraft does not have a problem.
2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.

Just wait until Castro dies. Then the literacy rate will drop. The whole Cuban system is dependent on his decisions. If he falls, Cuba falls. ;D

Tis true. And not really laughing matter.

Approximately 11382. I think it's probably fairly safe to assume that most of those are either too young or grew up before the revolution.

Are you guys on drugs?  Some guy puts out a study that says folks in the UK suck at Karaoke and you guys take it as a cue that your education is in dire disrepair?  Sheesh, I can't do no karaoke and I reed reel gud.

If a nation free of the horrors of Karaoke is the result of a poor education system then I say we get rid of the schools!

Well lets see I bet the CELEBRATED singer (from Birmingham) OZZY OSBOURNE has made a fair bit more money than you in his career ;D
As he happens to live just down the road from my mum (his English house) and John is a terribly nice chap.

Sounds like misleading wording to me Doug, another mainstay of psych studies.  It becomes rather alarming how much we are misled if we actually look up the original research for ourselves.

I didn't say I believed it or that using karaoke is a good example. You should know by now that I'm always wary of "experts" & their misuse of statistics. ;)

D'oh.  Brain fart, of course.  ::)  Sorry then, didn't mean to sound in the least bit patronizing.
