[quote]....Well it must be down to the " "new" forum as the "old" forum displayed fine with IE7 and Firefox........still I don't suppose anyone will be bothered to do the necessary to put it right so I'll have to put up with it. I can't really believe I'm the only one affected.............commoner

I think there must be an automatic limit on the height of our signatures.
Anything exceeding that height results in displaying a "scroll window".
The same effect also applies to Jake and Matt in this thread...

That's it, Matt...!!

It does involve the height of our Signature area... :o...!

I wonder what the overall default height is, and how it can be detected... ::)...?

The inclusion of my photographed "things" would certainly exceed the allowable limit... :-[...!

Paul.... 8-)...!

...shame about the reduction in size of Miss Whiplash, I need to don my specs now to examine her in detail...(as I do)... :'(...!

P.S. Nice to see that subsiquent "edit" details to our posts dont get printed any more... :)...!

That's what I keep trying to tell you. The only way to find out is by experimenting with different browsers & desktop resolutions. It won't be the same for everyone as there are several variables. The height of sigs (including images & text) is unaffected in IE6 at 1024x768. The max width of images at the same resolution seems to be 730 pixels.

P.S. Nice to see that subsequent "edit" details to our posts dont get printed any more... :)...!

That could be a problem as some unscrupulous types can change their posts without anyone knowing.* It seems to be on a time limit & also appears that you can't edit your posts at all after 24 hours.

*PS. That's the reason I usually include quotes. Get outta that. 8-)

This is how Fozzer's sig looks on my machine in IE6 at 1024x768 desktop resolution. (Note that the window is minimised to take the shot.) I resized the image to 730 pixel width for posting here.

This is how it looks in Firefox at the same resolution.

...but glad I don't have to fiddle with with Miss Whiplash's sliding bit to see her in full........wish she'd get that sickly green bikini swapped though.....UGH!........... :'(
