5 teams are currently 7-5. the broncos and chiefs are current wildcards. with the jets being the fav's as you said for one. Jacksonville and cinncy are the two unknowns really. I dont see jax getting in. They have a tough road ahead i believe. As do KC.
Denver and Cinncy meet in a couple of weeks IIRC. or next week not sure. Either way that game will almost certainly decide the final wild card spot as Denver then only have Arizona and the 49'ers to finish with. The chiefs finish is brutal. Baltimore, San Diego and Jacksonville. Plus the Raiders who always throw a spanner into the works for the Chiefs. If they get in, it will be well deserved. In theory though the Broncos could go on a run, beat the Chargers tomorrow, KC beats SD next week. And the Chargers still have to play Seattle the week after, and I really could see them going 0-3 there depending on tomorrows game. If Denver take advantage of that and go 3-0 with the easy schedule. Denver would be top of the AFC west again and the Chargers could be the ones fighting for their playoff's in the final game. A 10-6 team will be left out of the playoffs thats almost certain. Its a long shot i know. But you just never know.

Hey, the Dolphins won and from the looks of the stats Joey did pretty good too.  Thats great, it almost makes up for my Panthers basically ruining their season.

Yup that Jay Cutler, he sure is an improvement, maybe he'll trip over his own feet and pull something. >:(

Come on now, give the new guy a little room to grow.  If you can name a QB in the last decade or so who didn't struggle during their rookie season, I'll be shocked (the only one I can think of is Roethlisberger and even he had some tough games).  I think Shannahan's move of putting Cutler is was basically like "giving up" on the 2006 season.  I think they should have kept Plummer in until it was at least very unlikely that a playoff berth was at stake.  But, now that he's in, he is going to need a little time to grow.  Maybe the same thing will heppen to him as happened to Vince Young, he'll be terrible for a few weeks then all of a sudden something will click.  But, you can't judge a QB on his first few starts, because he will struggle and thats a given.

Although, I do somewhat disagree with the timing of his starts...but thats coaching.

Shanahan said himself Jay gave the Broncos the best chance to win now What he forgot to take into account was the fact that defenses dont play soft zones the whole game. They dont have to pull up before hitting a QB unlike practise. To be fair its not all Cutlers fault. This defense is looking pathetic. Its basically the same defense that went some 4 games without giving up more than 1 TD. To say you give up on 2006 when your still in with a good shot of the playoff's is reason to fire a coach. I think Mike gave into the fan presure to bench Cutler. Maybe Bowlen was in his ear too, but i cant imagine Cutler showed enough in practice to bench Jake. Mikes gotta man up, say he made a mistake and put Plummer back in while theres still a season to save. SD is the perfect example of how to handle the situation.

Maybe your right, perhaps he gave into pressure from others...I don't think you can expect to win right now with a completely new QB.  But, I think it would be a mistake to turn back now.  They have pubically said that Jay is the new QB.  It has been known since he was drafted that he was expected to eventually take over the team as the starter, it was unknown as to when.  When Shanahan made the choice, he made it for good.  To bench Cutler now would show that you don't have confidence in him to the rest of team.  I think it was a mistake to put him in this season, but its done.  I think going back on that would make matters even worse.

Yay, Jacksonville crushed Indy. I think I am the only one who chose Jacksonville and they won.  [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif]

The only person on the whole of the Broncos offense who wanted and liked the idea of Cutler starting was Javon Walker. He thought it would mean more catches for him. Too bad that isn't the case. Team unity is gone.

Well, he has 2 TD throws in the last 48 seconds.  For the moment, he's looking pretty good.   ::)

Of course, that probably won't last, but he does have the talent.  One thing though, it looks like he has a slow release...he almost has a wind up like a pitcher.  That's not the best thing but it can be corrected.  He's more mobile than he appears too.

two bad passes bailed out by Marshall (who is becoming an incredible talent) and Scheffler. We have a ball game, but it's still nothing to get excited about.  ::)

why cant they just challenge the champ once? He'll take it back for 6.

Anyone know when LT becomes a free agent? he'd look good in a Broncos uniform, and just imagine what he could do in that system. LOL ;D Incredible.
