Google Maps 2006!

Postby Fly2e » Wed Nov 22, 2006 12:07 pm

Am I the only person just noticing that Google has updated their old images to ones recently taken in 2006, or has thins been discussed already?

Last time I looked at my house was with the old images. Now I can see my newly built home!

Still same old images here....

Maybe they only updated the United States?  Like I said, when I looked last year, I saw my "old" home before I re-built it. Now I see my rebuilt home  ;D

"Here" is the United States, middle of Wisconsin, cheese capital of the US (no matter what California says). ;D  I've checked northern Minnesota, and Wyoming, and I didn't notice anything new, so consider yourself lucky. ;)

just remember to clear your cache images, in the options menu. That can cause older images to be displayed even after an update.

I noticed the central London images were replaced a month or so again. However they're not as good as it was obviously late in the day so everythings either gold or in shadow.

Dave - they update tiles - worldwide. There are many areas in the US with virtually no resolution.

If your area is HR you're lucky.

Google Earth is tiled. It's a big task but they don't work hard enough if you ask me!!!!  >:( >:( >:( >:(      ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Definitely updated!
In my back garden I can clearly see the table and chairs I got this spring, it looks like the cross of St. George is on them too, which would mean that the new images were taken during the World Cup.
So that could have been any time during the whole week that England lasted in the tournament...  ::)
