As I understand it, "Antidisestablishmentarianism" is the longest word in the English language.
From dictionary.com:
Main Entry:        antidisestablishmentarianism
Part of Speech:        noun
Definition:        originally, opposition to the disestablishment of the Church of England, now opposition to the belief that there should no longer be an official church in a country
Example:        When people are asked for the longest word they know, they often say antidisestablishmentarianism.

The longest word in the English dictionary I believe (i.e. not the name of an organism/substance) is floccinaucinihilipilification.

And it means? Nothing. ;D

According to the best Dutch dictionary (de Dikke van Dale) is this the longest Dutch word:

zandzeepsodemineraalwatersteenstralen (38 )

It means that someone has to buggar off, get away, leave immediatly. Problem is that nobody ever uses this word. It was invented by a Belgian writer (Herman Brusselmans) and he only used it one time in one of his books. Next longest word would then be:

Arbeidsongeschiktheidsverzekering (33)

which is an insurance for when you are no longer able to work.

Crash ;)

The longest German word is:

Rindfleischetikettierungs
"A bit of a pickle" - British translation: A catastrophically bad situation with potentially fatal consequences.

PETA Image People Eating Tasty Animals.

B1 (Cat C) licenced engineer, Boeing 737NG 600/700/800/900 Airbus A318/19/20/21 and Dash8 Q-400
1. Captain, if the problem is not entered into the technical logbook.........then the aircraft does not have a problem.
2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.
